Butterfly Wallpaper Bedroom

I’d like to share with you the before and afters on a recent client’s bedroom decked out with butterfly wallpaper.  This space was especially fun because the resident of the room, a bright and well spoken young lady with her own opinions, was my “boss”.

 You can see that we literally started with a blank slate.  Luckily, the floors were in good condition and the molding was to scale with the room.  Beyond that, I leaned into the design requests of my darling elementary-school aged client. 

Her Requests

-Butterfly wallpaper

-Pink, lots of pink

-A blue ceiling

-Highlighter yellow accents

These requests were submitted in the cutest little text message videos.  She was polite and articulate. 

Sounds like realistic goals for a young lady’s abode, does it not?  Here how her vision translated to reality…

I love the butterfly wallpaper and think my little client made a wise choice.  I enjoy the Jenny Lind bed and feel that it adds a nice architectural detail.  The canopy bed provides a comforting little nook, and a perfect place for her to make read books and make memories.  We installed a darling natural fiber rug with a subtle scallop boarder to protect the floors.    

I’d like to point out how perfect the family chair looks in this space.  You’ve got to love a well preserved vintage bark cloth in the perfect color scheme.
