Join me as tackle this crazy adventure.

Which way to the Bathroom?

Oh, and if you want to know the backstory and plan for this pink bathroom, then I’ve gotcha covered  Week 1 | Week 2

Before

After

Thanks to Wallpaper Boulevard for sponsoring this product.  The opinions are 100% my own.

This bathroom, a rarely used downstairs 3 piece suite, felt like the perfect choice to go bold or go home.  I’m only here a few more months, so what do I have to lose by trying something over-the-top and completely unpredictable (and removable BTW).  Enter this incredible Snake Skin Hot Pink wallpaper from Wallpaper Boulevard.  Yes sir, it doesn’t get much riskier than this, but I have to say that I am so in love with this paper.  In fact, it comes in a variety of other colors, but the black seems to be calling me…hmmm?  Can you say “next house?”

It is admittedly hard to do this paper justice in the pictures, but it is thick, high quality and embossed.  The best part is that it is water activated!  After finding my plumb line on the wall, I wet the back, booked it, and used my wallpaper brush to get out the bubbles.  There really is no repeat that I can see, so I wasted very little paper and it lined up like a breeze.

This bathroom took me 4 rolls (or two double rolls equalling 100 sq feet) and I had about a square foot to spare. PHEW!  I didn’t track the number of hours it took because I fit it in an hour or two a time over the course of several days…I’m a mom…real life had to happen this week ?‍♀️ .

Wonky Ceiling

This bathroom has a unique design challenge.  There must be ducts in the ceiling because the back half of the room is a foot shorter than the front half.  If you look closely at the picture below you can see it.

I wish I had a picture of the point in the proccess when the walls were done but the ceiling wasn’t.  The huge white ceiling against the relatively short wall looked horrible. To camouflage the flaws of the wall I just wallpapered the entire thing.  Now it feels very cave like, which I love.  The only thing I wish I would have taken into account is that there is not cam lighting in the area of the room above the wardrobe.  It’s pretty dark, and will be even darker after I strip the wardrobe.

Storage Make-Over

Before

During

You may have seen my Instagram story, but I have this little wardrobe that I picked up in England 8 years ago.  At one point I painted it, poorly mind you, to go in one of the girl’s bedrooms.  Last week I started thinking that it might be nice to strip off that paint and see what was underneath.  I’m so glad I did, because the burr walnut vaneer is gorgeous!  I was able to peel that much off with my finger nails, but I may need to pull out the stripping chemicals to get the rest done… In a blog hop time is money folks (ok, not really, but that would make me sound important :).

Come back for the After…I’m such a tease.

I am intrigued by the other ladies in the blog hop who are using the Velvet Finishes Paint and If there is a color that matches my grand plans I would REALLY like to try it out on the casing and inside of this piece.  Fingers crossed because I’ve been eyeing this product for months!
