Powder Room for Bathroom Primp and Pamper

Compared to all of the other rooms in my house, I can say with confidence that this little powder room packs the most style per square inch… HANDS DOWN!

Wallpaper

Let’s start with the powder room wallpaper, shall we?  I CAN NOT begin to tell you just how much I love this Paradis Wallpaper from Fine and Dandy Co.   Can you say DROP DEAD Gorgeous?  The Marigold color way is the perfect blend of happy and chic.

Not only is the style unbelievably amazing, the quality is INCREDIBLE!  It is multiple times thicker than normal wallpaper and about twice the width.  I was worried about installing high-end wallpaper next to a sink (especially with four kids in the house), but then I felt this paper.  It’s hardcore strong you guys….multiple times thicker than normal wallpaper, and tough as nails. I should be fine!  That is the benefit of going with commercial grade wallpaper.

This pattern comes in multiple color ways, and every single one of their Instagram posts stops me in my scroll on the daily.

Powder Room Sink

Not even my  Instagram stories followers have seen the installed 34″ Burleson Porcelain Console Sink with Brass Stand Black/Polished Brass from Signature Hardware. Well….Ta Da!  I LOVE IT SO MUCH!  I couldn’t imagine a more sophisticated design and the quality is great.  I adore the way the brass and black play off the other elements of the room and would totally recommend it!

Powder Room Plumbing

People don’t usually brag about their powder room plumbing, but in this case, can you blame me?  LOL.  This Signature Hardware Hewitt 1.2 GNP Single Hole Brass Bathroom Faucet with Pop up Drain assembly that I picked out from Build.com is dead-sexy, just like the  brass trap, from Signature Hardware. The complete package gives such a high end effect.

Powder Room Toilet

This is the prettiest toilet I have ever seen!  Even my contractor, couldn’t get over the styling on the Miseno MNO240C2 High Efficiency 1.28 GPF Two-Piece Elongated Chair Height Toilet with Slow Close Seat.  The details along the top, below the seat, and at the very bottom are perfect. Notice that the base is square vs round, like most other toilets.  After a few days in the home I can testify that it works great too!  A HUGE improvement over our last toilet.

You may notice that I swapped out the original silver toilet lever for this one Miseno MTL100FB Front Mounted Square Modern Tank Lever from Build.com.  It’s the little details that make a room, am I right?

Even Tex agrees…When you have to go, you may as well go an a stylish toilet.

Lighting

I didn’t want this room to feel frumpy so I needed a modern chandelier to keep things fresh.  Also, there is only light source in the room, so I had to find something with multiple lamps.  You would be surprised how hard it is to find a pendent that fits those requirements and the dimensions of this space.  LUCKILY, I found this really cool Hudson Valley Easton Pendant from Build.com.  At first I was worried that the scale was too much.  However, after painting the ceiling dark and installing the other elements in the room, I think it’s perfect!  It also emits just the right amount of light and pings off the black floors….I’d say I nailed it.  LOL.

Moulding

You know from my other rooms (living room/ dining room, girls bedroom, entryway, and bedroom) that I have a “thing” for Metrie Moulding.  I can’t tell you the difference that a little crown, chair, and panel mould make…even in a small powder room. I went with the Option {M} New traditional line and I think it looks stunning, especially with the details on the toilet.

I'm so in love with this dramatic powder room. The powder room console sink and chinoiserie wallpaper are divine

Totally worth a little extra effort and time!

RUG

The original plan was to patch up the wood and use this lovely Anatolia Hand-Tufted Maze Area Rug From Kevin Francis Design.  In the end we tiled the powder room floor instead.  This rug is so incredible and the design and colors are so classic.

Contractor

I didn’t have the time to DIY everything in the space like I usually do.  Plus, when it comes to plumbing I didn’t want to mess around.  I hired out the floor, toilet, and sink install to Richard from P&N Decorating.  He was able to trouble shoot all issues (like lowering the sink so that my plumbing matched the whole in my wall), offered great pricing, and was kind to me and my family.
