Jewel Marlowe Home Tour | 2020 It’s a Colorful Life
In this time of uncertainty and chaos in the wold it is so nice to have a space to retreat and nurture those that we love. Our haven continues to be evolving and improving, and I can’t wait to show you the spaces that have changed. I’m also included those that haven’t as a way to give a complete and comprehensive tour.
This blog hop was conceived by my friend Jennifer from Dimples and Tangles. Don’t you just love her happy home! When you wrap up here, don’t forget to click the links at the bottom to see her tour and the lovely homes of all of the other participants.
Jewel Marlowe Home Tour Theme: Gratitude
My heart feels a bit more full these days. I’m learning to pause and appreciate fleeting moments and precious opportunites. The ever-changing noise of the news causes me to give gratitude for things that we have taken for granted. Truly, I am grateful to have a roof over our head, plenty of food, and even a few extra rolls of toilet paper stashed in the garage ;). This home tour, I am choosing to highlight little updates like cherry blossom branches gathered from the professional tree trimmers on my neighbor’s yard. It is the little reminders that bring me joy. See how color, flowers, and pattern provide life in our Jewel Marlowe Home Tour.

Note: Most of the products featured in the Spring Home Tour were originally sponsored. I appreciate the support of the sponsors, and together we are teaming up to bring you unique design ideas. Opinions are always 100% my own. Click the links to see the sources.

Eat-in Area
Kitchen
During the quarentine the kids have been cooking most of our meals. It is true that the kitchen messes have increased, but I’m not sad about handing over cooking duties.
Entryway
The entryway is one of our most simply designed spaces of our home. I aimed for bright, airy, and welcoming.

Half Bathroom
This bathroom is still one of our favorite rooms in the house. While we have less guests these days, it still makes me happy every time I walk in.
We completed this space last summer as part of the Bathroom Primp and Pamper blog hop.

This room has stayed pretty much the same, but I did add a fun new pillow, called the Songbird Velvet Cushion, from Amanda West. Looks pretty good, eh? It feels perfect for spring.

This is our dining room, arguably the most maximalist space in our home.
We had family visit over Christmas, and at the end, my step-father, who has a safe and conservative style, admitted that even this wild wallpaper was starting to grown on him. ❤️?

Master Bedroom
While this room has stayed pretty much the same, we still love it. I have a complete list of sources and a DIY headboard tutorial.
You may remember that the VERY first room make over in the home was promised to my oldest daughter last summer. She was inspired by the teen bedroom designed by Jennifer from Dimples and Tangles, so we decided to come up with a play on Jennifer’s daughter’s room, but in a customized way.
The DIY headboard was completed in one weekend, and it adds so much personality to the space.
One of my favorite parts of this space is how I DIY’ed the stripes on the walls AND the desk.

Ever seen an upholstered bunk bed?
I still get a lot of requests for the tutorial for this project…Ta Da! Here is a complete upholstered bunk bed tutorial. I think there is one step in there that would really surprise you.
Also, HERE is the complete source list for this space!
We just finished this project last week, but with its completion, every one of our four kids now has their own room.

Basement
This project was part of the New Year New Room Challenge and we have been LOVING it since it’s completion last month. You can find complete sources in the first reveal and second reveal.
We personalized the space by adding a gallery wall at the end of the hall. I wrote a full tutorial on how to get the look.
Sun Room
Last summer we pulled together this sunroom. I predict a small refresh during the quarantine period.

I guess I didn’t realize how cohesive and uniquely special your home is. It’s one of a kind and how we should all treat our homes. It’s so visually pleasing and not over done at all. You did just the right amount of maximumism. So inspirational Jewel. Thank you for sharing with us. ❤️

Hi Deborah
Thanks! I think I will do something small, since I will be homeschooling/trying to stay healthy 🙂 What about you?
Love all the rich details in your home, and the color palette in your family room is perfection – lovely use of light and dark!

Hi, could you tell me the RAL COLOR for the kitchen? We are about to make our kitchen and we want the same color, but we can’t find it…thanks!
Hi Cosmin
Unfortunately I don’t have that exact information. What I can tell you is that I color matched Parma Gray (Farrow and Ball color) into Behr Paint (it is a US based company). This is what I ended up with. It is a little more vibrant than the original color and I freaked out about it for 24 hours before proceeding forward. LOL. In the end I actually really like it. Not sure if that is helpful, but I can’t read the pigment information on the top of the can anymore, so I am afraid it is all I have. Good luck!
What color are the cabinets in the kitchen with the Cambria Bentley . I’m using this Cambria but can’t find the color of the cabinets
Hi Sharon
They are Hague Blue but done in N’Hance paint. Thanks for reading.
