2020 Fall Home Tour | It’s A Colorful Life | New Rugs
Yay! 2020 Fall Home Tour day! I appreciate you taking the time to stop in and check out the new changes since last Summer. This time of year I look forward to the nearly perfect temps and changing leaves here in Northern Virginia. While I generally don’t go crazy with Fall or halloween decor, I have added a few touches here and there.
Colorful Fall 2020 Home Tour
A huge shout out to my friend Jennifer from Dimples and Tangles for conceiving today’s It’s a Colorful Life 2020 Fall Home Tour. Don’t forget to click the links at the bottom to see her tour and the lovely homes of all of the other participants in today’s hop.
As an added bonus this year, YOU can participate. Simply use the hashtag #ItsaColorfulLifeTour on your Instagram regular feed post during the week of Oct 12-17th. On Friday each member of the It’s a Colorful Life Home Tour | Fall Edition will feature a few of their favorites in their Instagram stories.
Colorful 2020 Fall Home | Revival Rugs
Note: The products featured in the colorful home | Spring Home Tour were originally sponsored. I appreciate the support of the sponsors, and together we are teaming up to bring you unique design ideas. Opinions are always 100% my own. Click the links to see the sources.
This week I received a box with two beautiful new Revival Rugs, and I had fun this weekend incorporating them into a couple of our rooms.
Dining Room
Some of you may remember that we use to have a black and white geometric rug in both this room and the living room. While pretty in pictures, these rugs proved impossible to keep clean. Saturday we made the swap out to a gorgeous Jute Hart Rug from Revival Rugs. This beauty if ABSOLUTELY CLASSIC! With a low profile and pretty textural detail I think it feels more sophisticated and effortless than my last (high maintenance) rug.
The Hart rug isn’t shedding like some natural fiber rugs do. Yay! It also has a low profile, should be soil resistant, and would be perfect for layering. Though, at the moment, I am enjoying the clean simplicity of this natural fiber against my busy wallpaper.

I am loving this new, textural look.

2020 Fall Home | Teen Basement Area
Next up on the 2020 Fall Home tour is our teenage hang-out area. We also added a new Revival rug in here as well. Usually I buy things for my home because I know exactly where I want to put them. In this case, however, I loved the vintage rug and knew I’d find a place.
I LOVE Revival Rugs because they are the ONLY online, direct-to-consumer vintage rug shop, and their team hand picks beautiful collections in a variety of sizes and styles without the markup. I only receive mailing list notifications from two companies, and this is one. I like the early access notifications to new collections this way.

I have dubbed this new addition my “Candy Corn Rug”. Can you see why? LOL.
2020 Fall Home Tour | Deck Area
Moving the 2020 Fall Home Tour to outside, I want to show you what we accomplished last month. The deck area was my major effort for this summer and it feels so good to be done.
Colorful Home | Lounge Area
Loving the lamp in this corner and the warm Fall light.
2020 Fall Home Tour | Kitchen
We are still so happy with the kitchen changes last fall. I have documented what feels like the one clean kitchen day since online schooling began. LOL.

Colorful Home Tour | Breakfast Area
Last week I wrapped up these Roman Shades in this room. Though a little time consuming, it wasn’t rocket science (thankfully). I have the tutorial here if you need it.
Colorful Home Tour | Living Room
I added punches of mustard to this area and I like the addition.
Colorful Home Tour | Entryway
At least for now, I brought this table and mirror combo from the blue living room into the entryway. The verdict is still out, but it is fun to mix things up.

We are about to bring up the winter coats to this hall closet .
Colorful Home | Office
Though this is “my husband’s office” it has been taken over by one of my four kids for online schooling.
Colorful Home | Half Bathroom
Our little half bathroom continues to bring me joy.
We completed this space last summer as part of the Bathroom Primp and Pamper blog hop.
Master Bedroom
I have added a wool blanket and faux leopard pillows to bring in a feeling of Fall in the bedroom. I have a complete list of sources and a DIY headboard tutorial.
2020 Fall Home Tour | Bathroom
This recent bathroom makeover definelty fits the theme of the “colorful home” blog hop. It was the major effort of our quarentine days, and I love the uniqueness of this small space.
Colorful Home | Girl’s Bedroom
This bedroom might be on the docket for a Spring 2021 makeover. We have been brainstorming and begining to plan.
The DIY headboard was completed in one weekend, and it adds so much personality to the space.
While the I DIY’ed the striped walls AND the desk were fun, it might be time for something new.

You have done so many amazing makeovers! In such a short time! Wow!! That fish table in the foyer is my favorite!! I’ve loved it since I caught a glimpse of it tucked in a corner on an ORC post!
